I'll also share with you a bit of the process work. I was having trouble deciding between adding additional colors to the mix or leaving the little guys and gals blue and red. Here's an alternative color scheme I came up with:
I thought it was important to keep the colors bold and primary so as to appeal to children. While I like the additional color, I think the blue and red is a bit more consistent and easier on the eyes if a large amount of text is required. Still, here's a side-by-side comparison:
Oh, here's a close-up of the numbers. Number 1 demands particular attention. He likes the spot light. By the way, 0 sure is a negative number, isn't he? Look at that frown!
