Process Work -- monster cards in six easy (ha!!) steps

So, here's the process work for my letters.

I decided to make Monster Cards. This is the first design I created:

Kate suggested I put the profile information on the back so as to make the characters stand out and act as flash cards for children (they could even spell things with them). I think this is a great idea!

Here's my first revision:

I think the green is a bit distracting, so I altered it to a blue:

The splat behind the monster seemed too distracting, so I altered it as follows:

Kate suggested that I stick to a red and blue color palette. That seems to make the piece a lot more cohesive. This is what I came up with:

Finally, I removed the red behind the blue in order to clean up the design. I also realigned the typography to better fill the space. The font color is now a dark blue to better fit with the rest of the design.

Well, there it is. A monster card in six easy (ha!) steps.
